Who we are

Our story began in Plavje, a village in the City Municipality of Koper. It is located on the northernmost edge of the Istrian peninsula, on the border with Italy, a small hill overlooking the Gulf of Trieste. In Plavje, we grow olive trees, grapes, figs and many other fruits and herbs. We are grateful to our unique location where the nature provides the best soil and temperature. This also reflected in our culture and products: warm, relaxed and premium quality.

In 2008, we founded the company "Istrska Hiša Skupina" and began to represent our products, especially wine and brandy, which were primarily sold to Trieste. The compliments and rising demands for our products has motivated us to move one step further. In 2015, we have opened a Mediterranean restaurant Altrokè and a seafood bistro Vino&Ribe in Ljubljana old city center.

The first Vino&Ribe bistro is located in Stari trg 28, Ljubljana. This is the former medieval part of the city and very known for its history and modern city lifestyle. Serving a healthy and delicious seasonal menu consisting of fish and seafood, as well as fish burger, pasta, and raw fish carpaccio. The dishes are only prepared from the best ingredients such as homemade olive oil, Mediterranean spices and seasonal vegetables.

Our house wine is family brand Čok, which is made of indigenous Istrian varieties: malvazije, muškata and refošk. Contemporary and delicious, definitely a winning combination of the menu.

Our team at the Vino&Ribe is passionate about serving freshly made and authentic dishes and great service to the table. We provide the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere to our guests, offering a true urban dining experience within a modern yet vibrant environment. It is the perfect place for a lunch, dinner with friends and family, or a quick bite on the go.

Two more locations – Aleja (Šiska) and Superova (Rudnik) shopping center. Our concept of seafood and wine combination became very popular among both local and foreign guests. It was time to expand our team to the two modern shopping centers. Although Ljubljana is not a big city, people do enjoy checking into various locations for shopping and tasty food. We tailormade our menu to meet higher and faster demands in this environment. Guests can come for freshly made dishes and a glass of wine during the break from shopping or just before going to the cinema.
